In-Mind International is relauching, and we are looking for people to join our team
In-Mind is an online magazine that publishes articles on psychological topics that are of interest to a general audience. I recently took over as editor-in-chief of the international (English) version of the magazine. I am very excited for the task and am eager to begin to publish new content on the site. A lot is happening in the world as well as in the
field of psychology, and I see this as a great opportunity to publish texts that are of interest to many.
The overarching
goal of In-Mind is to make psychological knowledge accessible yet offer in-depth texts that relate psychological findings to different societal phenomena. We have many readers and therefore also set high standards when it comes quality. To meet these goals, we have a peer-review process that is quite similar to that of an academic journal. Typically, researchers submit articles which are then handled by an editor who invites reviewers as well as a writing expert before the paper is published at in-mind.org.
I am now looking for people who wish to join us in the editorial team. Everyone at In-Mind do their work on a voluntary basis and we are driven by an interest in science communication. The English version of In-Mind has been dormant for a while due to staffing shortages, and I took over at a stage when many people that had been on the editorial team had to leave to do other things. Although the English version is currently at the stage of re-launching after a break, there are several versions of In-Mind in other languages that are up and running and expanding. So together, we are a big team of people located in different parts of the world.
At the moment, I am primarily looking for people who wish to be editors at the English version of In-Mind, which is also by far the version with the highest number of readers. Being an editor means handling articles that are submitted, finding and contacting reviewers and making decisions regarding publication. Editors should be psychology researchers, and many of the people working at In-Mind are at the early stages of their career. If you wish to join, know that you don’t need to put in more time than what is feasible to do on a voluntary basis. I’m hoping to have around 10-15 people on the editorial team, preferably from several different fields of psychology.

We are also looking for other roles to be filled (e.g. language experts, administrative roles). If you don’t wish to be editor, or perhaps feel that you are too junior but wish to be somehow involved, you could have a look at the staff pages at the other versions of In-Mind (dropdown list at the top right corner) to check out what others do. Let me know if you think you can contribute with something.
